(Scroll down for NL & ENG & video) Bram m’accueille chez lui à Bois-le-Duc. Je le rencontre grâce à Warmhowers, un site me mettant en contact avec d’autres cyclistes. Bram est ingénieur, fanatique de vélo et calcule entre autres l’inclinaison idéale des ponts pour cyclistes! Sa ville est équipée de nombreuses infrastructures permettant la circulation aisée de la banlieue vers le centre et vice-versa. L’architecture gothique flamboyante de la cathédrale Saint-Jean rappelle que la ville fut longtemps une des grandes villes du duché de Brabant. De chez lui, Bram m’indique les haut-lieux culturels et m’emmène à vélo dans sa ville.

In Den Bosch kom ik Bram tegen. Hij is lid van Warmshowers, een website voor en door fietsers. Hij is fietsfreak en ingenieur. Hij kent onder meer de juiste helling van fietsbruggen! Aan moderne fietsinfrastructuur, hier geen gebrek. De stad was lange tijd een belangrijk centrum van het Hertogdom Brabant. Hiervan getuigt de prachtige gotische Sint-Janskathedraal. Bram wijst al naar de merkwaardige gebouwen waar wij heen fietsen.

I meet Bram in the Dutch city of Den Bosch. He’s member of Warmshowers. This website bring cyclist from around the world together to help one another while touring. Bram doesn’t only know his city like no other, as an engineer he talks about the ideal steepness to be used on bike bridges. Dutch cities make cycling as confortable as possible. Den Bosch is also the birthplace of Renaissance painter Hieronymus Bosch know for his fantastical paintings. Good friends, art and a vibrant cities, a fantastic start on Route60.
